The Property

Boone's family has property up Echo Canyon that we like to go visit. The boys have a great time looking for deer, elk or moose, watching for the trains that pass by, shooting the guns and tormenting "Sagie Girl" the dog.

Carving Pumpkins

We had a great time carving pumpkins. The weather was great. TJ actually put his hands in the pumpkin this year to help clean it out. The only accident we had was when Maranda decided to drop the knif on her toe. Thank goodness for band-aids.

Halloween Costumes

This year for halloween the boys decided to be Jimmie Johnson & Jeff Gordon. Jeff Gordon was the runner up costume for TJ because I could not find a Speed Racer costume his size. I thought they looked great. When we tried the costumes on for the first time they both were wanting to sleep in the costumes. So I took that as a good sign.

Jayden's Halloween Program

Jayden's preschool put on a Halloween program for us. The did a little skit and sung Halloween songs. It was so much fun to watch. Jayden loves to sing so needless to say he did a great job.

Pumpkins at Grandma's & Grandpa's

This past spring TJ & Jayden helped their grandma & grandpa plant pumkins in their garden. Finally after many months of waiting and watching they got to pick out their favorite pumpkins. There were enough to go around so Maranda & Dallin got to pick pumpkins also.

Say Cheese....

One thing I would love to learn to do really good is take pictures. Hopefully one day I will get to do that but for now I have to do with the knowledge I have and the camera I have. So last Friday I took the kids up to the mountains to attempt to get some fun pictures of the the kids together. I got some good ones of the kids individually but the pictures of them all together...well not so good. I will keep trying and hopefully someday I will get a good one that we can put on the wall. So here is a sample of the pictures I was able to get.

Family Fun

For the past 2 months that the boys and I have lived in West Point the favorite activity for the boys is jumping on the trampoline. Itis the first thing they want to do in the morning and the last thing before they go to bed. Jayden suprised us all one day by doing a flip. Usually he has his hands down to help him flip over but every once in a while he actually does a flip. TJ loves to bounce everyone and do hand stands. Flips are not his thing yet but I am sure they will come sooner than later.

Dallin & I have been taking the Hunter Safety class and needed to practice shooting. So we pulled out the bb guns and started shooting. TJ & Jayden loved watching and actually tried shooting themselves. They hit the target with a little help from Boone.

Mini Golf

It is sad to say but up until tonight, I have never gone Miniature Golfing with my kids. It was so much fun. We were planning on going to a football game but it was so crowded Maranda, TJ, Jayden & I decided to go golfing instead.

If you have ever seen the movie "Happy Gilmore" Jayden could play Adam Sandler to a tee. When it was Jayden's turn to hit the golf ball you needed to stand 3 ft back and pay close attention so you didn't get hit by the golf club.

TJ looked like he was playing the winter sport "Curling".

Maranda & I had a great time actually golfing and the boys had a great time walking up to the hole putting the ball right next to it and pushing it into the hole. There was a pond along the golf path and luckly the boys stayed dry.

Butterflies 2008

This year TJ & Jayden got there own butterflies. Unfortunatly the boys didn't get to go hunt for them this year. Grandma took pitty on us and did the hunting for us and brought them down to us. Both caterpillers survived and turned into beautiful butterflies.

TJ's butterfly came out first and stayed around on the bush we put it on for over a day. Jayden's appeared the next day but as soon as we put it outside it flew away. Both boys were in tears because they wanted them to stay.

Soccer Time...

Fall has begun and so has the sports. The Kirkman household is very busy this time of year with sports. TJ has began his first year of soccer, Maranda is also playing soccer and Dallin is playing football and soccer when he is not playing football. Poor Jayden just has to be the family cheerleader with me. Next year he can join in the fun and he can't wait.

TJ's first soccer game went better than I was planning. There was not any grass picking, rolling around on the ground or staring into space. Yeah for us. We only had tears toward the end of the game when he got frustrated because he couldn't get the ball. But....all in all it was a good experience for him.

Soccer update....Game 2 and 3 went better for TJ. No tears and he is following the ball pretty good. He is not very aggressive but he runs really fast and is learning more and more each time.

TJ's First Day of School

Okay, Technically TJ's first day of school was August 25th, but I am not counting that. He only went for 30 minutes to meet his teacher. And the next day he went for 15 minutes for his Kindergarten Assessment. SO....today is the first day of school. His teacher is Mrs. Thurgood. She is wonderful. Maranda & Dallin both had her for their Kindergarten teacher and loved her. He goes in the afternoon. He has been so excited to go. No tears from mom. I think it is to exciting for them to cry. To see the smile on his face made it a wonderful day.

TJ loves this backpack. It was the first one he saw in the store and was not going to have anything else.

I can't believe how big TJ is getting. He is getting more and more handsome everyday!!

Jayden big day at Preschool

Ever since Jayden can remember TJ has always gone to preschool. This past year Jayden was very upset that TJ would get to go to school and he didn't. So last spring I signed him up for preschool and life was good. BUT now we have moved down to West Point and driving to Mendon 3 days a week was not going to work. So...After several phone calls, I was able to find a preschool in West Point for Jayden. He is so excited to go. Last Thursday he got to go and meet his teacher Ms Marcee. She seems really nice and I think he will have a great time. Today was his first day and he loved it. He got to bring his favorite bear with him to school. He said his favorite thing was singing songs. (That doesn't suprise me at all).
