Flaming Gorge part 4

Maranda & Dallin were there to help TJ with his first "cliff" jump. I thought he might be a little nervous but he didn't even think twice before jumping. I was so proud of him.

Jayden finally helped catch himself a fish.

We took a little time from the boat to drive over to the dam. It was really neat. Jayden missed out on seeing it because he was watching the back of his eyelids. Oh well, I am sure he can see it next year.

With a little help from Boone, TJ was having floating lessons. He is really good at swimming and jumping but was nervous about floating on his back. The middle of the lake is a little different from a swimming pool or bathtub. He finally got over being nervous and did a great job.

All in all the trip went great. No sunburns and no bug bites. Yeah for us!!

Flaming Gorge Part 3

Swimming lessons for Jayden. After a little help from Boone, Jayden would actually let go of the other persons life jacket and float by himself.

After the floating lesson he practiced jumping off the back of the boat and swimming by himself to the ladder. That took some practicing but by the end of the trip he was doing great.

TJ finally caught his first fish of the trip. He was very sad because it was not a "Shamu Fish" (that means it was not black and white like some of the other fish we had caught). He was also a little apprehensive about touching something slimy but he was glad to have caught and reeled in his fish all by himself.

Flaming Gorge Part 2

TJ loved to fish. He was right there ready to help whoever was holding the fishing pole. I didn't dare use their fishing poles because I didn't know if they would actually reel in a fish. So we just used the normal fishing poles. TJ did a great job reeling in the line.

Jayden on the other hand was content to watch. He was more interest in sitting on the back of the boat and watching the bubble on the water from the exhast.
When we went to fill up the tube we found a little stow away. You can't see it really good in the picture but a little grasshoper jumped out onto the back of the boat. The boys loved it.

After watching Maranda and Dallin go crazy on the tube they boys needed to be reassured by Boone that we were going to go really slow on the tube. Boone did as they asked and we barley moved in the water.

After a long day of boating and fishing they everyone was ready for bed. All the kids decided to sleep in the boat. As you can see it was quite a fun thing. Poor Dallin keeped on getting bugged by Jayden, but he was a great sport and put up with him.

Flaming Gorge Part 1

The boys and I had our first trip to Flaming Gorge. We went with Boone, and his kids, Maranda and Dallin. We had a great time camping, swimming, fishing and lots and lots of playing.

The kids all got along really good. They all love posing for the camera. The boys absolutly adore Maranda and Dallin. If the boys needed anything they wanted them to help them, not me.

Apparently sudden rain storms happen alot at the gorge. So withing 1 hour of being on the boat the rains came. So we put the cover on the front of the boat and they boys dived for cover. At least those 3 stayed out of the rain.

Jayden loved to sit at the stearing wheel and tried to drive the boat. If no one was in the drivers seat he would just plop down and start stearing us.

The water was nice. It could have been a little warmer but after the initial shock wore off it felt great. Poor Jayden would not let go of my life jacket if he was in the water. TJ took to the water like a fish and didn't want to get out.

Tractor Time

OK...so the boys have become fascinated with tractors and the process of cutting, bailing, and picking up hay. So needless to say that grandpa had lots of help this year cutting the first crop. TJ was very nervous because of how loud the swather was. So grandma got to go on a tractor ride with him and grandpa. Jayden hoped right on but followed his brothers example by not taking his hands off his ears. Grandpa got a little reprieve and got to bail the hay by himself but the boys were right back out there when it was time to pick the hay up in the bail wagon. Luckily we found some ear muffs that helped with the noise. The boys had a great time with grandpa, and can't wait for the second crop to be ready!!!

Slip 'N Slide

The boys have been having lots of fun with the slip 'n slide this summer. TJ did a really good job getting to the "finish line" but Jayden had a hard time actually staying on the mat. So after a couple of tries Jayden just sat out contently watching TJ slide while he wore the swimming goggles.

Swimming Time

Summer is offically here and I am really slow at putting the post on the blog. The boys had swimming lessons and loved every minute of it. It was nice for Jayden to be old enough to go to a class by himself, no mom or TJ. He loved jumping in the water. The second he saw his teacher he just jumped for her.

TJ had a great time with his lessons too. Every morning before the lessons he would tell me that he wants to swim with Shamu when he gets bigger. I used information to help him listen to his teacher better and have strong swimming arms.
